Family Days Out

Get Bowled Over – our activities will get you wet and wild at our water parks, pedalling through the stunning scenery or enjoying a spot of culture

Rhyl provides the perfect base for enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery and sampling the top activities on offer.

In Rhyl you can stroll along the promenade or take a ride on our traditional beach donkeys. If you are feeling energetic you can get on your bike and experience part of National Cycle Route 5 on Rhyl Promenade. Whilst there, visit the Drift Park where there are five different zones to explore, visit the casino or go 10 pin bowling. Prepare yourself for the fright of your life in the Terror Tombs or head for the Botanical Gardens, an oasis of calm with gardens, tennis courts and a bowling green. Tiny tots can be entertained at the Children’s Playground.

Brickfields Pond is a tranquil freshwater lake surrounded by grassland and woodland where can enjoy the sculpture trail, fishing, or bird watching. Televised harness racing can be seen at Tir Prince Raceway and you can watch the football at Rhyl’s own league ground. From boating, swimming and tennis to bowling, golf and dancing there are many activities to please the whole family.

We won’t lie to you. It might rain while you’re here. After all, anything is possible. Now in some places that might mean sitting glumly in your car or skulking back to your accommodation. Not here. In Rhyl some people actually look forward to a bit of bad weather. OK, we might be exaggerating a little. But a passing shower does give you the perfect excuse to scrape the sand from your feet and explore our indoor attractions.

Many of our most exciting sights and thrilling rides can only be found inside. So don’t be afraid to come on sunny days, too. Otherwise, given our famously balmy climate, you might miss all the fun.

Let’s face it, kids like to be scared witless. This is where the Terror Tombs come in. Part of the Palace Fun Centre, they promise unsuspecting youngsters “the fright of your life”. And we wouldn’t recommend Geronimo’s Revenge in the adventure playground to those of a nervous disposition either. At 25 feet, it’s the largest and fastest vertical drop slide in the region.
